We started Fernby because our own dog hated the vet.
So we built the clinic we wanted to take her to: calm rooms, clear prices and people who had time to explain.
Our story
A vet visit should feel like calling on a friend.
In 2019 Dr. Hannah Weiss was a vet with a nervous rescue called Fern. Every appointment meant a slippery table, a waiting room full of barking and a bill nobody had mentioned. She knew it from both sides of the counter, and she knew it could be better.
Fernby opened that autumn in a former bakery on Alder Street. It had a sofa instead of plastic chairs, a separate door for cats and a price list by the entrance. People noticed. Their pets noticed first.
Today we are still one clinic on the same corner, with a team of eight and around 6,000 patients on the books. The sofa is still there, and so is the price list.
